Ceremonies In and Around Columbus, Ohio by Rebecca J. Williams

I am often asked,
"Do I need rehearsal?"

If you have attendants (Maid of Honor, Best Man, bridesmaids, groomsmen and especially children) in your wedding, you will be much more relaxed on your wedding day if you have a rehearsal.  I work much harder during your rehearsal than during the wedding.  We physically go through the steps of your ceremony at least twice.  If at that point, I look around and see questions on faces, we will do it once more.  My rehearsal goal is to try to determine all the details of where everyone is supposed to be and when, so that you may relax and enjoy your day.  On your wedding day, as the bride, you don't want to go out in your dress to make last-minute decisions.  A rehearsal helps eliminate most of those last-minute decisions.  If I have rehearsed and talked with you, if a question comes up I can make a confident decision for you.
In my experience you have spent a lot of time, energy and money planning your wedding: a rehearsal may seem like just another needless expense.  However, it truly allows you to reap the benefits of all that planning and revel in your wedding day.
The Wedding Ceremony is the ritual that is the purpose of the day.
Allow me to make it memorable for you and your guests.

It is a privilege and a pleasure to be involved in a couple's wedding day.
Officiating weddings is truly part of the joy in my life.

I am always honored when a couple chooses to put their confidence in me to help them make their wedding day as special as they dream it can be. Your wedding is a very special day marking a turning point in your relationship. Allow me to help make it as unique and individual or as traditional and conventional as you would like it to be. I am willing to help with suggestions and advice or completely follow your plans as to how you would like things to be done on your day.

If you are shopping price for the cheapest officiant available, stop now because I am not the least expensive. If you are shopping for someone with whom you'll feel comfortable and who will listen to you, then let us talk and meet. I am fully accepting of you, your background and beliefs. I will try to help you create the ceremony you didn't even know you wanted. I enjoy meeting people and I can also offer suggestions for elements within your ceremony that will help make your ceremony more special and unique, more specifically about you. Don't be afraid to ask for something unusual or different. The most unusual concept can be turned into a beautiful reality. We can create beautiful ceremonies that include parents, existing children or others who are significant to you. If there are those who are unable to attend but whose presence you would like to spiritually acknowledge, I can help you find words or simple gestures to do so. From a simple backyard barbecue to a splendiferous spectacle I can help you put together the words that will help make your day memorable.

I began performing ceremonies in April of 2003 to help a friend. Since then I have performed over 300 ceremonies. The best part of my week occurs when I interact with a couple planning their ceremony or performing their ceremony. My greatest delight is sitting down with a couple with no idea what they would like in their ceremony, talking with them, learning a bit about them and guiding them through the process of finding the words that express how they feel about each other.

Thank you for considering me as your officiant.

I look forward to meeting you!
